Retrospective: Second Workshop on New Work in Public Administration

Temporal and Functional Flexibilisation of Work

Description and content of the event

The second workshop in the ‘New Work in Public Administration’ series of events took place from 19 to 20 September 2024. This was once again organised by the National Institute for Public Administration Germany (NIPAG) and held in cooperation with the ‘General Administrative Organisation’ subcommittee (UA AV) of AK VI of the Conference of Interior Ministers under the leadership of Prof. Dr Jan Ziekow and Dr Silke I. Keil.

This year, the topic of ‘New Work’ was used to discuss the temporal and functional flexibilisation of work, once again with renowned managers from federal and state authorities as well as the private sector. In several input presentations from the fields of science (NIPAG), the private sector (Deutsche Bahn AG) and public administration at state level (Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior, Bremen Senator for Finance, Berlin Senate Department for the Interior and Sport) and municipal level (Ludwigshafen am Rhein city administration, Hanover state capital administration), participants were given an insight into the individual New Work concepts that are already being implemented or will be in the future.
