Launch of the Youth Check Berlin (YCB) project
The NIPAG has initiated the development of a youth-check for the state of Berlin. The kick-off workshop for the youth-check Berlin (YCB) programme took place on 26 November 2024.
The project, commissioned by the Berlin Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family (SenBJF), will run until July 2025. Its objective is to develop and implement a youth-check for the state of Berlin.
In a participatory process involving youth policy experts, the project will develop an evaluation tool for the YCB, which is adapted to the circumstances of young people in Berlin. The youth-check evaluation grid at federal level will be adapted to the specific characteristics of the city-state of Berlin to this end. The kick-off workshop for the YCB took place on 26 November 2024, with a second workshop scheduled for 2025.

Development and Implementation of a Youth-Check for Berlin
The project engages with the development and introduction of a youth specific regulatory impact assessment tool (‘youth-check’) for the Federal State of Berlin. The project was introduced after the Berlin Senate passed a resolution in April of 2024 which approved the introduction and implementation of a youth-check for Berlin. The youth-check is a regulatory impact assessment tool that helps to raise awareness for the concerns of the young generation. The youth-check helps to visualise the effects of draft legislation on the young generation.
