Retrospective: Digital youth consultation - Youth Audit #3

Event organised by the Youth Check Centre of Excellence

Description and content of the event

The Youth Audit #3 was conducted digitally on an event platform by consulting 65 young people from all over Germany. The aim of Youth Audit #3 was to review and improve the work of the Youth Check Centre of Excellence (KomJC) with contributions from young people between the ages of 12 and 27. The young people provided feedback on the Youth Check app as experts in their own right, conducted a Youth Check on a real draft law using the assessment tool, discussed the function of the Youth Check within the Federal Government's youth strategy and informed the KomJC team about the concerns that different groups of young people have.

Prof. Dr Jan Ziekow, General Manager of the Youth Check Centre of Excellence (KomJC) made it clear at the opening event: 'The results of the Youth Audit #3 are of the utmost important to us. They will feed into our work, which we will also document in a report. Thank you very much for your time and we hope to receive lots of feedback so that we can improve our work'. At the opening event, Rainer Wiebusch, Head of the Department for Youth Strategy, Independent Youth Policy at the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ), also emphasised the importance of youth consultation events such as the Youth Audit #3, stating that the results would inform improvements to the Federal Government's youth policy.

The subsequent publication of the Youth Audit #3 report also made the impact of the results on the work of the KomJC transparent.
