Description and content of the event

Presentation of the ComYC’s third report, handover to Federal Minister for Youth Karin Prien and panel discussion on the topic ‘What's next in the 21st legislative period?’

The Competence Centre Youth-Check (ComYC) presented its third report on 23 September 2025 at the event ‘Youth-friendly policymaking with the youth-check: A review of the 20th legislative period’ and handed it over to Federal Minister for Youth Karin Prien. The report provides an overview of the work of the ComYC and the impact of the youth-check in the 20th legislative period. The report and its results was commented on by Jasmina Hostert (Member of the Bundestag), spokesperson for youth policy for the SPD parliamentary group, and Ralph Edelhäußer (Member of the Bundestag), youth rapporteur for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.

In the subsequent panel talk on the topic of ‘Youth-friendly policymaking with the youth-check: What's next in the 21st legislative period?’, the members of parliament discussed the youth-check and the youth policy priorities in the 21st legislative period with Karin Prien, a member of the youth-check Advisory Board and the ComYC.

The ComYC is a project of the NIPAG and has been conducting the youth-check for legislative proposals at federal level since 2017. The aim is to make the intended and unintended effects of proposed legislation on young people between the ages of 12 and 27 visible and to raise awareness among politicians and public administration.
