A current focus of my research activity as a legal scholar is on the analysis of civil service systems from a comparative perspective. Together with Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Karl-Peter Sommermann and Assistant Professor Dr. Adam Krzywoń (University of Warsaw) I have co-directed the interdisciplinary research project "Transformation of Civil Service in Europe". The most significant outcome of this research endeavor was the publication of an English-language handbook titled "The Civil Service in Europe: A Research Companion". Thanks to funding from the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI), the handbook is available as an open-access publication. It provides a comparative analysis of the changes and developmental trends shaping the civil service across Europe.

Furthermore, together with Prof. Dr. Birgit Peters (University of Trier), I have co-edited the Festschrift in honor of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Karl-Peter Sommermann. The four-language volume, Öffentliches Recht in transnationaler Perspektive (Public Law in Transnational Perspective) (Springer, February 2026), brings together scientific contributions from Germany and abroad. The essays examine the role of comparative law, address fundamental questions regarding the Europeanisation of administrative procedural and court law, and explore the core values and principles that underpin German and European constitutional law.

Drawing on my extensive professional experience as a conference interpreter, the comparative analysis of languages and legal cultures, as well as legal comparison—primarily in public law—form the core of my academic work.

My main research areas are comparative administrative and constitutional law, German-Italian legal terminology, higher education law, democracy law, public service law, and the law of digitalisation.

Please contact for any further information. I am looking forward to new academic connections.
