Dr Jenny Rademann at the Dialogue Forum on '3 Years of the German Act to Strengthen Children and Youth (KJSG)'.

Dr Jenny Rademann, research associate at NIPAG, was invited to contribute to the impact dialogue, 'Three years of the German Act to Strengthen Children and Youth: Further development and learning processes in municipal practice'.
The event, which was organised by the German Institute of Urban Affairs (Difu) on 5 and 6 December 2024, brought together 60 participants from research, practice and consultancy in an online format.
Dr Jenny Rademann presented the findings to-date of the project 'Implementation support for the KJSG: Conversion of administrative structures in the field of integration support'. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and will run for four years (2022-2025). The main topic of the project is the transfer of responsibility for integration support services for young people with disabilities under the umbrella of youth welfare. To this end, municipalities that have already gained experience with the 'Integrative Solution', as well as those that are currently preparing for its implementation, will be interviewed.
The lecture addressed the following topics:
- The placement of integration support services for young people with child protective services
- The process of implementation
- Communication and shared attitudes
- The management of interfaces.
The lecture provided an overview of policy guidelines and insights into implementation practice. It was based primarily on qualitative research in social science conducted in municipalities in almost all German federal states.
