At a time when digital technologies are omnipresent in our society, cyber security is more than just a technical necessity. Cybersecurity determines whether critical supply services are available or whether governmental agencies can function. The threat landscape is cataclysmic.
To strengthen Europe against cyberattacks, the EU has initiated a series of new legal acts: It aims to raise the level of cybersecurity (e.g., the NIS-2 Directive or the Cyber Resilience Act) and introduce cybersecurity obligations in other domains (e.g., Article 15 AI Act). Furthermore, it seeks to better interconnect national cybersecurity agencies and create a protective shield over Europe with the EU Cyber Solidarity Act. The project "Cybersecurity in the New EU Legal Acts" intends to analyze and systematize these changes to identify further action requirements.
