Event about the youth-check at the 18th German Child and Youth Welfare Congress
The Competence Centre Youth Check (ComYC) is a project of the National Institute for Public Administration Germany (NIPAG). As part of the 18th German Child and Youth Welfare Congress in Leipzig, the ComYC will present its experiences with the youth-specific regulatory impact assessment tool „youth-check“ and show how young people’s perspective can be taken into account in legislation.

Third Workshop: New Work in the Public Administration
The third workshop in the “New Work in Public Administration” event series will take place on April 2 and 3, 2025. Under the title “Satisfied with New Work”, the 3rd workshop will focus on the effects of New Work on the health and satisfaction of employees. In several input presentations from science, business and public administration, participants will gain an insight into New Work concepts that are currently being implemented.
Retrospective: Legal issues in virtual worlds - JuWissDay 2024
Virtual worlds are seen as the next big thing. The tech industry is no longer the sole focus of interest in this area; the Conference of Ministers of Justice and the EU Commission are also engaged. The concepts of the metaverse, Web3 and Web 4.0 are becoming increasingly intertwined. However, they all share a common expectation: the 'Internet of Tomorrow' will revolutionise our relationship with digital space by merging physical, augmented and virtual reality. At JuWissDay 2024 on 27 and 28 September 2024 at the German Research Institute for Public Administration in Speyer, we will examine the reality behind the hype, the key players influencing it and, most importantly, the legal and regulatory challenges that virtual worlds present for the state and society.

Retrospective: Second Workshop on New Work in Public Administration
The second workshop in the ‘New Work in Public Administration’ series of events took place from 19 to 20 September 2024. This was once again organised by the National Institute for Public Administration Germany (NIPAG) and held in cooperation with the ‘General Administrative Organisation’ subcommittee (UA AV) of AK VI of the Conference of Interior Ministers under the leadership of Prof. Dr Jan Ziekow and Dr Silke I. Keil. This year, the topic of ‘New Work’ was used to discuss the temporal and functional flexibilisation of work, once again with renowned managers from federal and state authorities as well as the private sector.
Retrospective: 'Youth Team' closing event in the Thuringia State Parliament
The closing event of the 'Youth Team' took place on 2 March 2024 at the Thuringia State Parliament. Around 30 members of the 'Youth Team' Thuringia gathered in Erfurt to reflect on the results of the previous meetings.

Retrospective: POLICY MAKING FOR ALL - How governments can integrate young people’s perspectives in decision making
On 5 December 2023, the Youth Check Centre of Excellence hosted an international digital fishbowl discussion on the question of how policy-makers can integrate the perspective of young people into their policy-making.

Retrospective: The administration as an employer
The annual conference of the German section of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) focussed on the question of how public administration can position itself as an attractive employer.
Retrospective: Youth consultation event on the future of rail transport
On 29 and 30 September 2023, a consultation event organised by the National Institute of Public Administration Germany and commissioned by DB Netz AG took place in Hanover. Fourteen young people aged between 14 and 24 from Lower Saxony and neighbouring Federal States took part in the event. Over the course of two days, these participants discussed the expansion and modernisation of the German rail network.
Retrospective: Second round of youth consultations in the Youth Check Thuringia programme
On 10 September 2023, the second consultative meeting of the 'Youth Team' took place in Erfurt as part of the Youth Check Thuringia programme. Around 30 young people from all over Thuringia took part in discussions about possible changes to the Thuringian Service Law, thus contributing to the ongoing Youth Check process.

Retrospective: Consultation workshop on the planned introduction of basic child support
The second consultation workshop organised by the Youth Check Centre of Excellence was held from 16 to 18 June. The workshop brought together 20 young people from across Germany to discuss the planned introduction of basic child support. Through a process of collective deliberation, the participants identified and analysed the potential effects of the reform on the lives of young people.
