NIPAG participates in the annual conference of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) on the topic 'Use of AI in public administration'
This year's annual conference of the German Section of the IIAS focused on 'The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in public administration'. Research associates from the National Institute for Public Administration Germany (NIPAG) were present to discuss the topic with practitioners.
Discussion Paper 92 published
The recently published NIPAG Discussion Paper addresses the question of how public administration can most effectively meet the challenges of the present and the future. It sets out strategies for maintaining capacity of public administration to act effectively in the context of multiple crises and rapid change. NIPAG conceptualises this in terms of task orientation, which can be defined as a project-oriented approach to work that takes tasks as the fundamental unit of analysis.

The evaluation of the implementation of the Schleswig-Holstein Open Data Act (ODaG) was concluded in October 2024. The NIPAG was commissioned to prepare sections of the report on the initial evaluation of the legislation in accordance with scientific standards.
KJSG project in the BMFSFJ report 'Working together towards one goal'
The NIPAG project 'Support for the implementation of the Act to Strengthen Children and Youth (KJSG): Conversion of administrative structures in the field of integration support' is presented in the report 'Working together towards one goal – We are shaping integrated child and youth welfare' (which is published by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and now also available in print.
Second 'New Work' Workshop: Temporal and functional flexibility in the workplace
The second workshop in the series 'New Work in public administration' took place on 19 and 20 September 2024 and focused on the temporal and functional flexibility in the workplace. The workshop, organised by the NIPAG, was chaired by Prof. Dr Jan Ziekow and DrSilke I. Keil in cooperation with the Subcommittee on 'General Administrative Organisation' (UA AV) of Task Force VI of the Conference of the Ministers of the Interior in the conference rooms at the Berlin office of the NIPAG.
