What skills will be needed for an effective and efficient public administration in the future, and how can these skills be developed in public servants in a focussed manner?

We specialise in researching and advising public administrations on complex issues involved in transformation processes.

From a single source, we provide innovative research solutions that can be readily implemented in administrative practice and science-based policy, as well as administrative consulting. The findings of our research and consultancy work are incorporated into our comprehensive transfer programme, which includes national and international conferences, workshops and seminars.

Our team of around 60 researchers engages in a diverse range of research and consultancy projects for ministries and authorities in Germany at federal and state levels, as well as for international organisations and governments of other countries. The interdisciplinary nature of our work enables our teams to draw on a wide range of legal, economic, political, social and administrative expertise. Our extensive portfolio encompasses all major aspects of public administration.

The NIPAG is jointly funded by the Federal Government and the States. As a leading centre for German, European and international public administration research and consultancy, we adhere to the highest standards of excellence. On the global stage, we represent Germany's overall national interests in public administration research.
