Organs of the Institute

Director

The institute is led by a director. With effect from 6 May 2013, the Ministry of Training, Science, Further Education and Culture appointed Prof Dr Dr h.c. Jan Ziekow director of the Institute for a seven year term.

Alongside the director, the institute is comprised of two additional organs, the administrative board and the advisory board.

Administrative board of the institute

The institute's administrative board upholds the interests of the institute's backers. It is comprised of 21 federal and regional representatives. Moreover, members can state their research requirements, which are taken into consideration during research planning.

Advisory counsel

The work of the institute is supervised and assessed by an advisory council. The council guarantees close connections between science and administrative practice: it's members come from academic institutions from within Germany and abroad, from public administration institutions, as well as from sectors relating to public administration at various levels and from across all of Germany.
