In our cross-disciplinary projects, researchers and Senior Fellows from different backgrounds team up to conduct research on, and provide research-based consultancy solutions for, government and public administration at all levels.
Research projects currently cluster in the programme areas “Transformation of the state in the digital age” and “European administrative area”. Consulting projects align with the foci of our various consultancy units.
Jan Ziekow has been serving as the director of the Institute since 2001, and was re-appointed in May 2013 for another seven-year term.
The Institute's stakeholders in federal and state governments are represented in a supervisory board. In addition, an advisory board ensures close contact with academics and practitioners in public administration across a wide range of institutions. Both boards shape the Institute's research programme.
